  • Hanging Baskets:  Daily or 2x based on sunlight and heat
  • Large and Deep pots:  Every other day or every 2 days

Morning Sun

  • Shallow pots or bowls in Morning only sun: Daily
  • Deck planters/Rail planters:  Daily (probably)
  • Hanging Baskets:  Likely every other day (but check)

No Sun

  • Shallow pots or bowls in shade: Likely every other day, but check based on wind or heat
  • Deck planters/Rail planters:  Likely every other day (but check)
  • Large or Deep pots:  Likely every 2-3 days (but check)

Replanting your container

  • Late August is a great time to replant your container with fresh fall plants
  • Remove the dying annuals
  • Plant new plants in empty spaces

Deadheading and pruning your container plants

  • If you keep the plants pruned and deadheaded (picking off spent or old blooms) you will maximize your container potential.
  • Loosen the soil every couple of weeks to allow fresh nutrients into the roots earlier.
